Let Me Introduce Myself

I just had my first baby, Josie John, in the midst of the 2020 pandemic/dumpster fire. Between trying to be a good mom and wife while running a business in complete uncertainty... it has been an absolute BLAST! *nervous laughter*

I started this business on the other end of the spectrum when I was living the single life in San Francisco. It was exhausting but exhilarating. I was working a fulltime job downtown only to come home to work on my business at night and on the weekends.

But I was going to do what it took to have a successful business because I desperately wanted FREEDOM.

Freedom To

Make my own schedule.

Freedom To

Kick off work at 3pm to go for a run on the beach.

Freedom To

Take long weekends to Napa or to go home to Maine.

Freedom To

Buy something nice for myself because I deserved it.

Freedom To

Go back to school to take classes about addiction counseling.

Freedom From

Working for men who would not listen advice from a younger woman.

Now freedom looks a little different as I’ve grown and focused more on my family life, but the need for freedom (ahem and MONEY) is still there.

Freedom to have the time, and a successful business to have the money, to do what I love to do - whatever that might be! So that became my mission:

Every Woman business owner deserves more time to do what they love while still running a succesful business.

You work too hard not to have more time to enjoy the little things in life.

After all, we only get so many moments and it's the moments that make a life well lived.

MY MARKETING PHILOSOPHY: BE AUTHENTIC

To be Honest, I think a Lot of Marketing Is Bullshit…

Let me clarify: marketing works, but it shouldn't be so complicated. There are people out there who are interested in what you offer... you've just got to find them. This doesn't have to require a big team or budget. Marketing is actually way more simple than that.

I'm from New England and I'm a big people person. I grew up in a small fishing town in midcoast Maine where the best marketing is still word-of-mouth.

Midcoast Maine holds a near and dear place to my heart. I learned a lot of important lessons working at local restaurants that served the same drinks to the local fishermen that they served to the well-off tourists eating their catch. Everyone would enjoy the same exact friendly service, but what that looked like varied from customer to customer.

Making a true connection with people depends entirely on building trust. Trust comes from communicating with people how they want to be talked to.

To sum, marketing is all about AUTHENTICITY. That's the secret to good marketing.
