Rapportive - Making Networking Easier

This social media tool is going to make make networking a whole lot easier. Enter Rapportive.

Rapportive is an insanely awesome Google Chrome plugin that encourages connecting with people and, you guessed it, building a rapport. Clever, huh?

rap·portnoun \ra-ˈpȯr, rə-\relation; especially: relation marked by harmony, conformity, accord, or affinity. (According to Merriam-Webster)

When composing a message in Gmail, this is what Rapportive looks like:

It's already helped me increase my connections on LinkedIn and the amount of people I follow on Twitter.  With the added bonus of defusing my stress levels.

For small businesses using social media as a marketing tool, this is an extremely helpful plugin.  With all the social media platforms out there and with all the people you're constantly connecting with, it's hard to keep up with everyone.

Rapportive is a social media tool that makes all that stress and fear of missing out on a potential beneficial connection dissipate.

More specifically this awesome plugin:

  • Immediately let's you see the contact's job, company and LinkedIn profile.
  • You can see if the contact is nearby and wants to meet up.
  • Let's you see some of the contact's recent tweets, which can be a great way to spark a conversation.
  • Overall, for me anyway, the tool acts as a reminder to connect with people who I may just be jotting a quick message to.
  • With easy to access to connect/follow options, it increases the chances of improving your numbers on social platforms. As we all know often when you start following someone on a social network they are often inclined to follow back. Especially when a connection (the email exchange) is already established.
  • If it's been a while since you last connected with this person, Rapportive quickly helps you access latest email exchanges with that person to bring you up to speed.
  • You can also leave notes on their profile (kind of like a mini CRM!) This is helpful when you want to remember what/when to broach a topic with that contact again.

The best part about this plugin? It's FREE! It's most certainly worth a download and a test run. You won't regret it.
